Living in the Era

Obstacles and debris are everywhere on the streets, roadblocks are literally at each block of the roads, yellow cordon tapes from one point to another flicker in light breezes.

People are on the streets, roadways, plaza, parks and overpasses. Parades of people holding banners, promoting solidarity and chanting for civil rights and liberties.

Garbage bins are burning, bricks once laid on sidewalks were thrown and landed sporadically everywhere, store windows are either heavily shattered or wood boarded.

Furious confrontations are at city landmarks, government buildings, schools and universities. Violent infuriating clashes between people and suppressive government authorities take place daily. Inconspicuously, peaceful protest possessions are being allowed lesser and lesser.

Strict National Security Law, stringent public policies, rigorous vengeance on dissidents, injustice court of laws.

Living in the era wouldn’t have a minute less of excitement!

At the calm and peace of cemetery, lived in the era would be timeless.

Brainwashing Soap Opera

The most popular entertainment at home is the nightly soap opera on TV for the whole family to enjoy after dinner. Who would have ever thought that the soap opera are brainwashing us for the government.

It would be easily fooling the general public that TV Network Station is operating independently, but the TV station could actually be running puppet shows on the front while the government is actually one hundred percent in control of pulling all puppets in the shows behind all presentations.

Let me explain how a TV soap episode could brainwash its audience. A character is encouraging another to register as a candidate to campaign for a political position in the election by saying ‘just work hard to qualify being one of the candidates of the political election, I’m sure people will vote for you!’, as if the election were the truly democratic election in the democratic society.

The problem is in reality, the country or the society is not truly democratic, it has no democratic election because all candidates for any so called election are appointed from small groups of the government. While people have been watching TV soap opera every evening, people are easily forgetting in real life the electoral system is completely different from what’s depicting on TV.

Would I ever see a smile on the face again?

The politician publicly denies his wrongdoing even though mountains of evidence have proven that he has in fact committed all the crimes that he’s accused of. No smile would be seen on his face.

The lady chief executive of the city has always been lying publicly to the people she governs even before she was appointed to take the governorship office. It is so aggravating to the people because she never stops lying but insists all her lies are the truth. No smile would be seen on her face.

A mother would pretend she is the best mother there’s for anyone. She would never tell what’s in her mind. She would never approve any good things you have done for her. She would never have a smile on her face.

A sister would say no other siblings have taken care of mother but she alone does all the caring for mother. She keeps scolding other siblings for not doing anything and not doing anything correctly but only she would do things right and only she would take care of mother. She would never have a smile on her face.

How far would you go to uplift yourself?

You could be an ass-kisser.

You could be a backstabber.

You are a ‘Yes’ idiot.

You see only money.

You are emotionless.

You don’t know right from wrong.

You can not tell black or white.

You lie.

You don’t believe in facts and truth.

You say only what you are told.

Your brains do not process, just listen.

You do not mind being a murderer.

Your justice is lopsided.

You can not sleep at night but just don’t admit it.

What would you do for you?

What would you do for money?

What would you do for love?

What would you do for family?

What would you do for others?

What would you do for earth?

What would you do for government?

What would you do for you?

Hunting for Hope

The man keeps his articulation on freedom of expression of his mind. He strongly believes in the rights of freedom of speech so he constantly speaks of what’s in his mind openly. The man says, ” What I have in my mind is there’s hope, and I’m always hunting for hope. “

The woman keeps chanting ” We must respect human rights. So each person has basic human rights which must not be taken away by anyone else! ” She strongly believes that human rights is humanity which is inherent with human being. The woman says, ” I hope human rights is respected all over the world and I’m always hunting for this hope. “

The girl keeps singing ” I love you. You love me. We love each other. ” she says, ” I hope you love me always because I always love you. “

The boy keeps telling loudly ” I will protect you because I am strong. ” He says, ” I will protect you from those bad people who want to hurt you, I hope I can stay strong always. “

Grandfather keeps saying ” I want to be healthy, I want my whole family to be healthy so that nobody has to worry about anybody getting sick! ” He says, ” I hope to stay healthy because I can always travel to see everyone in my family. “

Grandmother keeps singing ” Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me. ” She says, ” I hope I am happy, I hope I am always happy. “

Humanity

Humanity is witnessed the moment a person becomes conscious either awakening from sleep or other reasons.

Humanity is witnessed based on the person’s work, ideas, issues, problems, things-to-do, learning, beliefs, elements, abilities, skills, feelings, time, faith, effort, desires, preference.

What is humanity witnessed in daily living?

What is humanity witnessed living in a war?

What is humanity witnessed living through after calamitous disaster?

If I had told myself I would be a witness of humanity and a silent supporter, I shouldn’t have had minded being it.

I would shut up, cut out the superfluous humbleness, and cut out both of the needless benign or malign talks.

I would be goal oriented, focus, clear on objectives, thematic, result oriented, relax on judging knowledge standards, calm, and cool but firm.

I would wisely and humanely act upon what I have witnessed in humanity.

Lunch Order

The man looks in his 70’s sat down across me at the table where I was sitting while munching on my seafood thick noodle at lunch.

In his clear, crisp loud voice, the man firmly and determinedly ordered his lunch for a set meal consisted of minced fish & pork balls porridge and pan fried radish cake, he also ordered a lemon tea drink on the side. It’s not the order taker who repeated the ordered menu to this man, it’s this man himself who repeated his ordered menu to the order taker.

The order was transmitted both to the kitchen and the cash register via wireless but before long, the cashier brought in the ordered menu list together with total food & drink payment on a single bill to the man. Wanting to make sure that the ordered menu and item bill would be delivered to the right person who had exactly ordered the food and drink items on the bill, the cashier repeated out loud that the man had ordered the minced fish porridge as she was handing the bill to the man. The man reacted quickly and firmly, ‘NO’, and had no intention of taking the bill from the cashier.

The cashier instead handed the bill to the order taker who then put the bill in front of the man and said he told me the exact order from his own mouth. The man responded out loud to the air that ‘of course I say no because she said I’ve ordered the minced fish porridge, which is not the set meal I’ve ordered that has minced fish and pork ball porridge with pan fried radish cake’; if I said yes, I would be sold short, which I didn’t want.

The Statement

I witness.

I witness the latest Hong Kong Chief Executive Election policy incident.

I would like to make a statement as if I were one of the leading roles in this ‘Occupy Hong Kong’ movement campaign.

The Statement is made on November 24, 2014.

The yellow umbrella revolution is a triumphant revolutionary movement. We all ought to stand proud of it. Looking back at many other pro-democracy movements elsewhere in history, yellow umbrella movement affirms the beginning of a long journey for the ‘True Election’ pro-democracy revolution in Hong Kong. We have a lot to do from here onward.

‘Occupy Hong Kong’ movement has served extremely well for its purpose as a trigger for the yellow umbrella movement by laying the solid ground work for our True Election pro-democracy revolution. It’s time now to call an end to ‘Occupy Hong Kong’ movement so as to give way to begin yellow umbrella revolution demanding true election in our government.

We have begun making the first page of Hong Kong’s modern history and carrying on the yellow umbrella movement continuation is writing history to fill up the pages of Hong Kong’s modern history book. These pages that we are writing history on shape the true democratic Hong Kong for our coming generations. We are all more than proud because we are all doing the right thing by taking part in the yellow umbrella revolution fighting for True Election pro-democracy for Hong Kong. When we stand out to take part in the yellow umbrella revolution to defend our inborn human dignity and fight for our inherent human rights, we could then become true fathers and mothers of our upcoming generations. Doing this is exactly what everyone knows that we are doing the right thing!

We have a lot to do from here onward.

First, we should establish to monitor our government. We monitor our government to do the right things as its duty called for; we monitor our government to rightfully serve its people; we monitor our government to honor the inherent rights which its people entitled; we monitor our government to listen to its people as it said it would; we monitor our government to be rid of corruption and foul plays; we monitor our government to honor a fair and just election system as it promised it would; and we monitor our government to make a true democratic Hong Kong as it is stipulated.

To monitor our government, we need to investigate, to question, to understand, to inquire, to search, to analyze, to learn about, to see, to gauge, to compare, to record, to look in, to look back, to remember, to be reasonable, to make logical, to justify, to query, to confirm, to substantiate, to validate, to authenticate, to verify, and to corroborate both facts and lies of everything that our government do. We have a lot to do and it is a continuing task from generation to generation. We must work hard.

Then, we must expose and publish publicly all the findings as unveiled and revealed from monitoring our government; so each one of us can understand and judge if our government is doing the right things or telling lies. It would also be fair that our government can defend itself if it sees that the exposed and published are not true.

An online media platform which everyone can access to read about all the findings published should be setup.

The online media platform serves multiple purposes. First, it provides a place for all the findings acquired from monitoring our government to be accessible to everyone. Second, each one of us can read about the information directly knowing that nothing has been filtered. Third, the platform is a public and open communication channel where each one of us can exchange opinion, interpretation, questions, understanding, queries, inquiries, or beliefs. Fourth, if our government disagreed with the published information on this platform, it can voice out to defend itself by proving the published but disagreed information should be otherwise so that it is fair play for all involved.

Moreover, we need to look back into China history and Hong Kong history from World War II. Organize the historic incidences to display on the online media platform for all of us to read and learn about China and Hong Kong from WWII so that we can see what history tells us the right and the wrong of China and Hong Kong since then. Understanding more of China and Hong Kong from their history which has been recording since World War II will help us understand more clearly and correctly of how and why China and Hong Kong are coming to what China and Hong Kong today. Let history tell us what it is ought to be the most just and fairest manifestation.

Most important of all, this online media platform is recording history for all of us, for our upcoming generations and the world. Each one of us is a history writer. How much more proud would one be as participated in the process of writing history? History tells us the right and the wrong! What is there to argue?

By being a history writer and participating in history writing is carrying out the mission of preserving humanity.

We are all peace loving people. We don’t need the violence and bloodshed built-in with the revolutionary movements recorded in history. Together let’s build a true democratic Hong Kong with the ending of the yellow umbrella revolution. So, let’s end ‘Occupy Hong Kong’ now and begin the ‘Yellow Umbrella Revolution’. Let’s work hard together, let’s move on. We have got a lot to do from here onward.

The Routines

No matter how much I have been reminding myself to keep asking myself how to live on either knowingly or subconsciously, I have always fallen in the trap of routines.

I am living in routines and I want to change.

Living in routines may not be bad or it’s actually a way of living for many; but to me, I feel helpless.

I feel helpless isn’t because no one helps me, it’s because I can NOT help the unjust, unfair, unreasonable, and inhumane to turn to just, fair, reasonable, and humane that I witness in my living.

It is a terrible feeling that I cannot do any thing to help.

I ask myself how to live on. How to live on with the things that I witness daily?

I would write!

Writing can break the shell of routines for me!
